Trail Planner helps runners plan ultramarathon routes, pacing, nutrition, checkpoints, crew briefs, and race-day execution. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.
Information you provide or create
You can use Trail Planner without signing in. Route files, plans, checkpoints, drop bag details, nutrition settings, and runner profile settings are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, or save them to your account.
Accounts and sign-in
If you sign in with Google, authentication is handled by Google and Supabase. Trail Planner may receive basic account details such as your email address, name, user ID, and profile image so the app can identify your account and show your saved plans.
Saved plans
If you use account-based saved plans, Trail Planner stores the plan name and plan data in Supabase so the plan can be listed, loaded, updated, and deleted from your account. Saved plan access is scoped to the signed-in owner.
Location data
Live race mode may request access to your device location so the app can estimate progress along the loaded route. Location data is processed in the app for race-day guidance and is not sold or used for advertising.
Maps, weather, and elevation services
Trail Planner may request map tiles, weather, elevation, or route-support data from external services such as OpenStreetMap, Open-Meteo, Open-Elevation, Supabase, and Google. Those services may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, and the requested map, weather, elevation, or authentication resource.
Local storage
The app uses browser storage such as IndexedDB and localStorage to keep your current route, plan state, settings, cached tiles, and signed-in session available between visits.
Sharing and exports
When you export or share a Trail Planner file, the exported data contains the route and plan information needed to open that plan elsewhere. Only share exported files or links with people you trust.
Analytics and advertising
Trail Planner does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for advertising. If analytics or diagnostic tooling is added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe it.
Deleting data
You can delete saved plans from your account in the app. You can also clear local app data from your browser or device storage settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
